Foreign tourists entering Ecuador will no longer need to show evidence of health insurance at the point of entry, according to the recent Organic Law for the promotion of production, attraction of investments, employment generation and fiscal balance that came effective this last Tuesday, August 21st, 2018, after its publication in the Official Register.

However, we recommend that ALL travellers take out adequate travel insurance that will cover them for the countries and type of activities they want to undertake there. This is particularly important with regard to adventure sports activities such as hiking, climbing, white water rafting, horseback riding or diving.
