These short packages can be combined in a modular way in order to create a more comprehensive and interesting itinerary based on your interests and travel style. The ‘Magic of…’ itineraries include all the highlights of their specific region, while the ‘Spirit of…’ itineraries tend to be a bit more active and include some off-the-beaten-track adventures in each region. Of course, we can also design individually tailored packages according to your personal wishes and ideas.

Spirit of Atacama

A slightly more off-the-beaten-track Atacama itinerary that focuses on the natural and cultural places of the typical highlights of the region. You will visit the Catarpe Valley with its impressive rock formations, hike the beautiful canyon of Guatin and visit the hot springs of Puritama and meet local Atacameñan families where you can learn about the life in this incredible place. You will also visit the Tara salt flats at an altitude of 4600m at the Quipiaco Lagoon, and explore the wildlife of this amazing place. Finally, we will also visit the archeological site of Yerba Buenas where we can see petroglyphs scratched into the rocks in ancient times before visiting the dazzling Rainbow Valley.

Magic of Atacama

This short 4d/3n program includes a visit to the Moon Valley and the Death Valley, an archeological tour of Toconao and a visit of the Atacama Salt Lake, and once you are acclimatized to the altitude, a visit to El Tatio and Machuca Village. You have a choice of 4 hotels, depending on the comfort level you require, and you can also choose as to whether you want to have private excursions or join the group excursions. The price varies depending on your choices. 

Atacama Adventures

This short 4d/3n active adventure is lodge based in the popular town of San Pedro de Atacama. From here we explore the surrounding highlights of the region, such as the valley of the moon, Pukara de Quitor, the Quebrado de Diablo, Machuca and the Rio Grande on a mountain bike, horseback and on foot. This is a great way to experience the Atacama desert in an active way. Some of the trekking will be at high altitude, but as we are staying at a lodge in town, you don’t have to carry any gear, except for your daypack.

Exploring the Central Valley – A wine-tasting Escapade

This short 3-day tour of the Colchagua Valley and Maipo Valley is a great way to explore some of the regions great wineries without the headache of having to drive around yourself. Wineries that will be visited are Viu Manent, founded in 1935 and the Montes Vineyard. On the third day, before heading back to Santiago, we will visit the Santa Rita vineyard in the Maipo Valley, with its stunning setting. This itinerary includes all meals, from lunch on day 1 to lunch on day 3 and the wine-tastings. You have a choice between two hotels in the Santa Cruz region. The itinerary is in private service, though the wine-tasting and vineyard tours will be in shared service.

 

Magic of the Central Valley

This itinerary explores Santiago’s historic old town, before heading out to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Valparaiso, on the Pacific Coast, a colorful and highly spirited place. On the way back to Santiago we will make a stop-over in Casablanca Valley and visit one of the vineyards there, On the third day we head towards the Andes and explore Maipo Valley and discover the agricultural life in this region, which is so close to Santiago and yet, seemingly so far away in terms of its lifestyle and traditions.
All nights will be spent in Santiago. Includes Breakfasts and Lunches as well as a winery tour and tasting.

Magic of Easter Island

The Easter Island, also known as Rapa Nui, lie more than 2000 miles off the Chilean coast, in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. It is home to one of the most enigmatic cultures on earth. Declared a UNESCO world heritage site, more than 1000 extant monumental statues that are scattered across the island bear silent witness to this culture’s past. This 4d/3n itinerary introduces you to the art, history, and culture of this civilization as you will be visiting all the important ceremonial sites. The itinerary can be done in private, or with group visits to the sites. It is available with a choice between 6 different hotels, depending on your comfort needs.

Lake Passage to Argentina

If you are thinking of heading to Argentina’s Lake District as part of your trip, this is the way to go, there is no more beautiful way to get from Chile’s Lake District to Bariloche. This short 3d/2n journey starts in Puerto Varas, the lovely ‘city of roses’ on the shores of Llanquihue. On the second day, we will head to Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, with a short stop at Petrohué Falls, before boarding the catamaran that will take us across Lago Todos los Santos to Peulla. Lago Todos los Santos is thought to be one of the most beautiful lakes in all of Chile. On the third day, you will take the public bus that will take you across the Andes and then take another catamaran from Puerto Blest to Puerto Pañuelo, where another public bus will take you to Bariloche.

Magic of the Lakes

This short4d/3n itinerary will let you explore some the more difficult places to reach in the area around Puerto Montt. On the first day, you will be transferred to Puerto Varas, the beautiful City of Roses on the shores of Lago Llanquihue. On the second day, you will make an excursion to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and take the catamaran to cross the beautiful Lago Todos Los Santos to the town of Peulla and have time to explore the area before heading back to Puerto Varas. On the third day, we’ll cross the Chacao Channel to visit Chiloe Island, famous for its iconic little wooden churches, which have been given UNESCO World Heritage status. Chiloe is also an important breeding ground for the Humboldt and Magellan penguins and we will visit their colonies.  On the 4th day, you will be returned to the airport. All nights are spent in Puerto Varas and you have a choice of 3 hotels, depending on your comfort requirements.

Active adventures in Aysen (Coyhaique region)

This is an active 4d/3n itinerary based at a hotel in Coyhaique, the cultural center of that part of northern Patagonia. On the first day, you will be transferred from Balmaceda airport to your hotel in Coyhaique and you will have the rest of the day to enjoy by yourself. On the second day, you will be picked up and transferred to Cerro Castillo where we will meet our horses and horse-guide, who will guide us through the Cerro Castillo National Reserve to the Castillo Lake. On the 3rd day, we will spend the morning walking to a beautiful waterfall in the Simpson River National Reserve and after lunch, we will visit Dos Lagunas Natural Monument, which we will explore by bike. On the 4th day, you will be taken back to the airport. All nights are spent in Coyhaique.

Spirit of the Carretera Austral

The 5d/4n itinerary starts in Balmaceda, where you will be picked up at the airport and transferred straight down to Puerto Ibáñez, on the shores of Lago General Carrera. On the second day, we will take a day excursion to Cerro Castillo National Park and maybe spot some Patagonian wildlife. We return to Puerto Ibáñez by boat. On the 3rd day, we will head south, to the Patagonian National Park, where we will explore some of the hiking trails. The night is spent in Puerto Bertrand. On the 4th day, we will return north, with a stop along the way at the confluence of the Neff and Baker Rivers. After arriving in Puerto Río Tranquilo we will take a boat to explore the famous Marble Caves. The last night is spent in Coyhaique, capital of the Aysen region. You will be returned to the airport on day 5, in time for your onward flight.

Magic of Patagonia

This 4d/3n itinerary is a whirlwind introduction to Torres del Paine National Park, one of the foremost hiking destinations in the world. Although not massively tall (The highest peaks measure less than 3000m, the way this mini granite mountain range justs out into the air from the surrounding pampas, is quite startling. This itinerary visits all the most important and more easily accessible sites. Unfortunately, it is not possible to go far off the beaten track with this itinerary. If that is what you are looking for, look at some of the other options – the hiking itineraries or the lodge based programs.
Variation: It is possible to visit Balmaceda Glacier on the way out of the park, a journey that is done by boat, first taking a zodiac down the Serrano River, and then switching to a larger vessel that will take you back to Puerto Natales.
